I thought the accommodations were a good value, though our room had no view to speak of.
Shuttle service to Duke U. hospital. On-site restaurant and bar facilities for convenience.
It was very convenient to the va Hospital in Durham and we were able to go back and forth for our appointments with ease. The breakfast was excellent but the waiter who started with us just disappeared and another waiter picked up and gave us excellent service. Our room was great. ONe thing that is needed is a bar on the bathroom wall near the tub so an older person can get out easier.
Location, Entrance Lobby and their shuttle services to various locations in Durham.
The Hotel is about 33 years old. It needs a lot of renovation and modernisation. Although everything still works it seems dated now.
when i checked in one day later, due to airplane delay, I was told that my booking was never valid. Thank God that there's still room. The booking system is not reliable for an international traveler like me. Besides, I put on sign 'not to disturb', so the hotel skip the housekeeping but still charge me 'auxiliary service fee, $5 per day', what on earth does that come from?
Convenience to Duke Hospital facilities. Good value for the money.
Gave out of hot water in the morning. Had to finish my shower and shave with cold water.
close to highway
old style room, decor and appliances. The breakfast buffet was nothing nutrinional, heavy products and not good presentation.
very close to the shopping centers in Durham
it better to install the WiFi at each floor
The room was comfortable and the decor was lovely. The housekeeper was great.
I did not like the bath/shower area. I felt very uneasy as there were no grab bars.
The staff who drove the vans were extremely acommodating and helpful in guiding us around the area.
The whole staff couldn't have been more welcoming, helpful or friendly, but I have to make a special mention to the guys driving the vans. They were fantastic throughout our whole stay. They really made a difference.
I think this very nice hotel deserves a thorough face-lift, from internet reception in the rooms to new air-conditioning to renovated bathrooms, to match the excellent service.
It was a big roach in the bathroom
I was asked at check--in if I had reserved two queen beds and I told him I had reserved a king. He ignored me and gave me two queens. I also asked exactly how much was going to be charged to my card and he said $94.95, which was wrong because he did not mention the $25 dollar incidental fee. I wish he would have told me this, before charging my card. That is why I asked. Not happy with the service we received at this hotel. Will not be back.
Location was great; the conference was actually held in the hotel. Great room, and the price was right. Friendly, competent staff.
Couldn't get the TV to operate properly. Asked several times to have it fixed or replaced (or to be given instructions on how to get it to access channels it didn't like) -- but it was never fixed during my three days there. Food was college level stuff; I only ate two meals there.
Convenience to business event, shuttle service was excellent.
There was a very unplesant smell at the entrance into the elevator on the first floor and the pungent smell was also evident in the elevator.
